Diamond Wire Technology
Diamond Wire Technology (DWT) is a global capital equipment and consumable manufacturer serving the semiconductor and solar equipment markets around the world. The company is the world’s largest and oldest manufacturer of diamond impregnated wire and diamond wire saws. The saws, which must perform to micron level precision, are used in applications ranging from laboratory sample cutting to production cutting of materials such as Sapphire, Silicon Carbide, and Silicon. The process of cutting with diamond wire using water as a coolant is a “Green” alternative to other cutting methods. The explosive growth of the solar power industry and the application of DWT’s saws and wire for cutting silicon wafers used in solar cells put the company at the forefront of the renewable energy expansion.
Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Diamond Wire Technology, LLC has been designing and producing Diamond Wire and Diamond Wire saws for over 38 years. Colorado Springs sits at the foot of Pikes Peak along the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains. With over 300 days of sunshine, bike trails and open spaces, access to sporting, cultural, and family attractions, and close proximity to world-class ski resorts, Colorado Springs is a prime vacation destination drawing more than 6 million visitors a year. Money Magazine, in its August 2006 issue, ranked Colorado Springs number one – the Best Big City in the nation to live and work.
