Diamond Wire Technology (DWT) is a global capital equipment and consumable manufacturer serving the semiconductor and solar equipment markets around the world. The saws, which must perform to micron level precision, are used in applications ranging from laboratory sample cutting to production cutting of materials such as Sapphire, Silicon Carbide, and Silicon. The company has traditionally manufactured diamond wire and diamond wire saws in relatively small quantities. Their products were largely targeted at R&D and low rate production applications. Now the business is moving into production applications requiring more robust saws and wire manufacturing equipment.

Position Summary:
This person is the team lead for growing software engineering team (currently 2 members), including giving direction, mentoring, and coaching the individual team members. This position is responsible for the analysis, design, development and deployment of software projects. This includes implementing a software source control package that manages multiple projects and users and maintains good software release history. This is a leadership position that must be able to mentor less experienced software engineers on good software design, debugging, testing and release practices. This position reports to the V.P. of Operations.

Principle Responsibilities

• Team lead managing, coaching, and mentoring engineers on multiple product project teams
• Analysis, design, development, and deployment of software projects
• Implementation of software source control package
• Additionally, plays individual contributor role in writing code as required

Qualifications

• BSEE and/or Computer Science Software
• 10+ years experience

Skills

• Design of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) using PC based touch screen technology
• Strong understanding of methods to connect and control automation equipment(including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Staged RLL programming techniques)
• In-depth understanding of embedded PLC communication protocols such as Modbus, DirectNET, ProfiBus or similar protocols
• Familiarity with real time software control of hardware components such as Analog to Digital Converters, Digital to Analog Converters, Counters and Timers
• Experience working in equipment automation/robotics environment
• Excellent knowledge of structured testing methodology
• Knowledge of:
  - Languages: C++, C, Visual C++, Visual Basic and VBNET
  - Integrated Development Environment: analyze feasibility to move to Visual Studio 2008
• Leadership experience
